मसूरी थाना प्रभारी अरविंद चौधरी ने बताया कि बुधवार देर रात स्कॉर्पियो में सवार पांच लोग धनौल्टी जा रहे थे। इस दौरान चालक धनौल्टी मार्ग स्थित कैसेल रेस्टोरेंट पर गाड़ी पार्क कर रहा था। अंधेरे में जगह का अंदाजा नहीं होने से गाड़ी बैरिकेडिंग तोड़ते हुए नीचे खाई में गिर गई। दुर्घटना में हरपाल सिंह (46) पुत्र स्वर्गीय तेज सिंह पंवार, दिलीप सिंह पंवार (48) पुत्र स्वर्गीय भगवान सिंह पंवार निवासी कंडीसौड़ विकोल, टिहरी गढ़वाल की मौके पर मौत हो गई।

वीरेंद्र सिंह (36) पुत्र शूरवीर सिंह, दीवान सिंह पंवार (54) पुत्र अव्वल सिंह पंवार निवासी कंडीसौड़ विकोल, टिहरी गढ़वाल और विजय लाल (40) पुत्र दिवंगत संतू लाल निवासी धरासू उत्तरकाशी गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए। घायलों को उपचार के लिए 108 एंबुलेंस के माध्यम से लंडौर कम्युनिटी अस्पताल ले जाया गया जहां पर तीनों का उपचार किया जा रहा है। हादसे में जान गंवाने वाले लोगों के शवो को पुलिस ने अपने कब्जे में लेकर मसूरी उप जिला चिकित्सालय में पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया है।

कोतवाल ने बताया कि दुर्घटना की सूचना मिलते ही वह मसूरी पुलिस और फायर सर्विस की टीम 108 एंबुलेंस के साथ मौके पर पहुंचे। घायलों को खाई से निकाल कर अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया। दोनों शवों को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेजा गया है।

कोतवाल अरविंद चौधरी ने कहा कि दुर्घटना के कारणों की जांच भी की जा रही है। दुर्घटना की सूचना मृतकों और घायलों के परिजनों को दे दी गई है।
